FermaStat is the flagship product of Obercreek Labs, LLC, co-founded in 2025 by technologist Tor Miller and brewer Dr. Philip Shaw of Obercreek Brewing Company. Together, we blend brewing craft and practical IoT to help craft breweries safeguard fermentation and deliver consistent, high-quality beer.
Our mission
We believe every brewer deserves confidence in their fermentation. FermaStat was built to give craft breweries an affordable, reliable way to protect beer quality, reduce preventable batch loss, and streamline cellar operations with modern monitoring and control tooling.
The problem we saw
Many small breweries still rely on manual checks or basic thermostats. A single overnight chiller failure can ruin thousands of dollars in beer. Inconsistent fermentation leads to inconsistent flavor, lost revenue, and wasted labor—especially when there are no reliable alerts or centralized logs.
